First time getting turf delivered? Unlike getting a package delivered, turf deliveries aren't an everyday occurrence for most of us. So today we're laying down the turf delivery expectations for you, so you know what to expect when you're expecting...turf.
Give it a good once-over, and you'll be ready and raring once that GoTurf delivery truck rolls up to your home.
About GoTurf Delivery
First of all, is this article for you? At GoTurf, we deliver Monday to Saturday from coast to coast, that's from Sunshine Coast to Gold Coast, out to Dalby and everywhere in between. That includes Caboolture to Maroochydore, Greater Brisbane, Noosa, Ipswich, Gympie, and Toowoomba, too.
Delivery vs. Pick Up: Why We Recommend Delivery For Most

We always want the process of getting your dream lawn to be as easy as possible for our customers. Simply put, getting your turf delivered is always easier, faster, and safer than pickup.
If you don't have a suitable vehicle, such as a flat tray ute or a trailer larger than 6x4, we always recommend delivery. This is for safety and to avoid any damage to your vehicle and trailer.
Here's what you need to know: turf comes in slabs weighing 15-20 kg each. One pallet of grass is around 1000 kg (50m²) when dry. If it's wet, it's even heavier. Unfortunately, we can't provide a universally accurate weight because it varies day to day due to weather conditions and other factors.
What to Expect on Delivery Day
Once we've got all our orders for the next day, we can map out our delivery schedule.
The day before your delivery, you'll receive a text or email with a two-hour delivery window for your turf's arrival. On the rare occasion we experience delays, we'll let you know.
Not Home? No Problem
Great news, you don't have to be home when your turf is delivered.
That said, if you're not home when your turf is delivered, and you have a specific spot where you'd like it placed, please provide clear instructions at the time of ordering or call us before the delivery day to let us know.
Now, it won't always be possible to leave the turf exactly where you've requested. Factors like the terrain, pets, and site access will determine where we can go, but we'll always do our best. If we can't reach your preferred spot, we'll get it to the next best thing, the closest we can safely deliver it.
The 24-Hour Rule: Install Immediately
We've spent months growing your grass, so please don't let it die in your driveway.
From harvest to your ground, the clock is ticking. Lay your turf immediately after delivery to minimise transplant shock and promote healthy root growth.
Can't Lay It the Same Day? Book Installation in Advance
If you can't lay your grass on the same day as delivery, please opt for professional installation when booking. You can add installation to your turf order online (it's easy) or contact our team directly. Availability is limited, so let us know as soon as possible.

Getting Grass to Your Doorstep

It starts with you. Let us know how much turf you need, the variety you prefer, and whether you'd like to pick it up or have it delivered.
On turf day, we harvest your order fresh from our 150-hectare farm using our FireFly harvester. The turf is then transported to our pick-up bay or straight to your backyard.
Your Top Turf Delivery Questions, Answered

How quickly can turf be delivered after ordering?
Our team generally needs 48 hours; however, you can always call us, and we can see what's possible. One thing is for sure: you must order in advance. Our turf is harvested to order. Without an order, it's firmly rooted in our paddock.
Do you deliver on weekends?
Saturdays, yes. Sundays, no. We recognise that 9-to-5ers may struggle to lay their grass on a working day, so we offer Saturday deliveries as well.
Can I choose a specific delivery time/window?
Delivery day, of course! A specific time isn't possible, but we will get it to you as soon as possible.
What's the minimum order quantity?
No such thing as a minimum order at GoTurf. We're happy to help whether it's 1 or 10,000 square metres. That said, delivery fees are set, so some people opt for pickup for smaller orders.
How fresh is the turf when delivered?
Farm fresh. We harvest to order, so your turf would have been harvested in the early hours of the morning. This Queensland heat is unforgiving, so we always stress that turf should be laid the same day as delivery or pickup (which also means the same day it was harvested).
How is the turf packaged for delivery?
No unwrapping required and no boxes in sight. Our turf arrives on pallets, ready to lay.
Can you install the turf or just deliver it?
We sure can, you just need to let us know in advance. Add installation to your order online, or call our team to arrange it.
How much does delivery cost?
Our turf delivery service varies by zone. The cost can be calculated at checkout when you enter your delivery address. If you have any questions, you can always call our team.
How do I calculate the amount of turf I need?
We offer an online calculator to help you estimate how much turf you need.
