Four simple steps to your dream lawn
1. It starts with understanding your lawn’s needs
Every thriving lawn starts with understanding what your yard actually requires. Factors like:
🌱 How much sun or shade your yard gets
🌱 Your local climate
🌱 How the space will be used
🌱 Soil conditions and drainage
🌱 Lifestyle factors (kids, pets, foot traffic)
These determine what matters most, whether that’s shade tolerance, wear resistance, or drought performance.
2. Preparation is what makes or breaks your lawn
Even the best turf won’t perform without the right foundation. Proper preparation includes:
🌱 Finishing all other landscaping first
🌱 Removing all existing grass and weeds
🌱 Building a fresh base of 75–100mm of soil or underlay
🌱 Levelling and grading for proper drainage
Get the foundation wrong, and you’re setting your lawn up to struggle from the start.
3. The establishment determines whether your lawn thrives
Laying turf on the same day it’s delivered is essential, ideally as soon as possible after pickup. The first 2–3 weeks after installation are critical. During this time, your lawn needs:
🌱 Consistent, frequent watering
🌱 Minimal foot traffic (stay off the new lawn)
🌱 Protection from drying out
This is when your turf establishes roots in the soil, setting the foundation for long-term success.
4. Long-term maintenance keeps it performing
Once established, your lawn still needs ongoing care to stay healthy. That includes:
- Regular mowing
- Seasonal fertilising (a few times per year)
- Adjusting watering based on weather and conditions
Every turf variety responds differently to maintenance levels, which is why choosing the right one upfront matters.
Now choose your turf.
All of our varieties are premium turf, grown in South East Queensland for local conditions, each with its own strengths depending on your space.
